There are two Kanakakis Villas, each attractively built in stone, and each with three bedrooms. The villas, individually named “Radamanthys and Ellotia” are set approximately 50 metres apart, and are quietly positioned within 8000sqm grounds. They are encircled by verdant countryside and oak woods, about 1,5 km from the lovely authentic old village of Atsipopoulo. It’s about 10min drive to the nearest beaches and to the picturesque old town quarter of Rethymnon. Both villas have been furnished in traditional style, and are suitable for 6-8 people. Each house is approx. 130sqm in size and has its own individual 35sqm swimming pool with surrounding sun terraces, and a portable BBQ. On the ground floor there is a spacious pleasantly furnished living room with a double sofa bed, an open fireplace, satellite TV, and a stereo system for CD and Audio- Cassette. Leading off the living room there is an open plan dining area and well- equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee machine and electric kettle. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom on this floor and a bathroom with WC, and a bathtub with showerhead. A wooden staircase leads up to the first floor, where there is a further double bedroom and a bathroom, with WC, and a bathtub with showerhead. This bathroom also houses a washing machine. The upstairs bedroom leads out onto a large sun terrace with stunning views over the countryside and to the sea beyond.
The closest beach is 4 km way, while tavernas, shops and a bakery can be found in the village of Atsipopoulo. There is an extensive choice of shops, and tourist amenities in town to Rethymnon, which is about 5 km away. Car hire is recommended.
This is a most relaxing setting for a holiday, and the surrounding wooded landscape is ideal for those who like to go walking.
