This carefully restored, three bed roomed house, situated in the village of Vori approx. 60 km south of Heraklion, was built in 1914 and is now under a conservation order. An enclosed courtyard style area with a vine covered pergola, surrounds the house, which can accommodate 6 to 9 people. On the ground floor, there is a living room with a sofa bed, and a single bed. Leading off this there is a pretty little garden with a covered terrace furnished with patio furniture, and beyond this a small annex building. The annex contains a shower/WC, a washing machine, a boiler room and general store room for wood and tools. Solar energy provides most of the hot water for the house. One bedroom is on the ground floor and has a double bed and antique furniture. The first floor has a further two bedrooms, one with twin beds and a sun terrace, one bedroom with two small double beds, and a bathroom with bathtub/WC. Across the courtyard, lies the handsome old farmhouse style kitchen and dining area, with a stone fireplace, a dining table, and a further single bed.
In the village of Vori there is a taverna and a few small shops. A larger selection of shops, a bank, and further amenities can be found in the villages of Moires and Tymbaki, both approx. 5 km away. The long sandy beach of Komos can be found after 6 km. Cleaning takes place only before arrival, and car hire is considered to be essential.
